Endurance is a pain

Times like this I wish I have given birth !

Why la menstrual can be such a major pain ! Tak paham betul la. Isn't it enough to bleed monthly without having to endure a bloody agonising pain !

I couldn't catch a single wink last nite. Now I am absolutely max stone and cold and counting the seconds for work to end. I could just bugger off but what good will that do. I wouldn't be able to sleep anyways coz I am still in pain.

I wonder if people who have sex change gets menstruation or not... emmmm... (asking a friend online)... apparently not. They can't get pregnant but they can climax coz a part of the penis skin is use to create clit. LOL !

You learn new stuff everyday ! Thanx for the help Aiman !

The Last Stand

I feel obligated to have a post of my previous weekend just so a particular someone won't think life was a bore when he was away :-p

Watched X-Men: The Last Stand @ GSC OU. Just a note, if ever there's only first row available in GSC OU, do take it up. You still get a good view and your neck won't break. Honestly.

Anyways, we were waiting for the midnite show when we heard a racket behind us. It was between a couple - 6' over nice physic male and an angmo lady; with a guard and a head security from OU. Had something to do about this couple can't find their way to their car park due to the limited access between old and new wing. The guy must be really pissed cause as soon he saw the guard he wasn't shy to share his thoughts. The guard tried to calm him but the more he tried, the more cocky the man became. After awhile the head security lost his patience too. I mean, the guy was being unreasonable also and he really did not need to show his tantrum. We fleed the scene and up the escalator to GSC when I noticed who this bloke was - Samser Sidhu !

There's a better way to handle the situation right... considering you're a public figure.

It is stupid how this two buildings do not have an access linked after 11pm, mainly due to separate building management. It does get frustrating but do we really have to be hostile. Yet, one can always ask for direction and not questioned it in the wee hour ain't it.

Btw, if you plan to watch X-Men, wait until the end of the credits. All the way end ! Trust me !

Health Q&A

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable).

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

And remember:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride !"

Betrayal the word

Sometimes it’s odd how things start to take a different turn. How a good friend became enemy and sibling became rival and lover became hatred - cause of betrayal.

Life is all about making the right choice and doing the right thing. Sometimes it is hard to judge how one's decision would have an effect on others even if it doesn't affect that person. I guess it’s an unpredictable turmoil that's beyond control… or maybe it can be control, hence think before you speak. Sad isn't it? I had my share of betrayal too and I can tell you it's one hurtful and hateful feeling.

I tried to patch up a friendship but after all reasoning and rationale, it never gonna work. I didn't wanna come in between this dispute but I was asked to help out. I tried... for FOUR hours... and failed. It's hard to change or persuade someone's mindset when they are adamant not wanting to change their feelings - mainly because they've been truely scarred.

Mistakes have been made and feelings have been hurt. Only time can heal. If it ever will.

I'm sorry dearie. I tried.

No frill and nice weekend

My darling was very happy when the karaoke session was finally filled with 3 men and a lady.

Yes lady being me. What?! I am a demure lady. Shut up!

Who would have thought there will be a day that there be more guys than gals. Hold on. Quite normal for me, I think but not with this group of friends. Usually it's only Andy and us chix !... hehehehe.... Cool thing is we're gym mates. Now, that's exceptional. I have few categories of buddies I hang out with - primary school, Assunta years, friends from Perth (sometimes sub-category to friends from Swak), ex UArian, office mates, and now gym buddies. I got gym buddies ! Yoo Hoo ! Working out is so much fun nowadays.

Next Mission Impossible: Get Ezz to frequent !

Come midnite, went latin dancing in Qba with Ila, Andy and Aiman.

Andy almost ditches me. Luckily Aiman was dressed up to go otherwise betcha he will :-p

The new band was not that entertaining. The crowd too was different. The usuals were NOT there. Aiman came specifically to spinned and twirled me rather than to enjoy himself. LOL. Sorry Aiman. Met Ronny and Wan right before we left. Ronny looked content now that he's with his very young sweetie. You can tell from his 3" wider waist.

Hey dude, what counts is that you're happy and I am for you.

Spent Sunday babysitting Sara and Qist coz Sara was unwell and Ying have to attend a wedding. Qist stayed to accompany Sara. Sweet ain't it. Luckily Qist willing. I just love them when they're weak. They easily comply ! LOL ! Then again coz the other auntie not there so they have no choice but to be nice to the only auntie around that time. These kids know how to be diplomatic when circumstances require them too - especially when McD was in stake.

There's always a catch !

Just to note, Sara is feeling much better, Dira is getting too smart, Qist is outgrowing the auntie very very soon :-<

Everyone outgrown me in time !

Da Vinci Code - The Movie

The most anticipated and controvercial movie of the year. Luckily Dan Brown won the suit otherwise there'll be nothing to anticipate.

I went with sis, bro and mom. And mom has no clue what it's about but the thought to watch midnite excites her I guess.

Some other friends watched on Friday nite too. There was mixed feedback. Those that didn't read the book thought it was good, those that did - prefer the book way off better. There was loads of interesting info missed out. Book was definitely more intriguing.

I didn't manage to finish the book before watching the movie but the half of it shows how much details were cut out. It's worth the watch but do read up the book.

Room Vader

I owe it to Coremeng big time for his willingness on sunday. We were at it from 7pm til close to 1am. Tiring it definitely was. Didn't expect it will take so long. Of course we stopped a few times to refresh cause it was too exhausting. I had a shocked when he took his tee off. In a flesh - view of his love bundle.

It was too generous to be just a love handle.

It's not easy to have a friend that was willing to come over and help you in your hours of need. He had trouble in the hole, not all the time, but with persistence and sheer determination, he managed to slot it in and gave a perfect fit. Some may question the integrity of their friendship, but not Meng, he's is by far the best !

Now I feel complete. Everything is nicely intact and in perfect location. I know I owe you dinner matey. Soon we get together ya...

Thanx Meng. My room sure looked organise now. I wouldn't be able to drill those shelves and trones myself.

Friday:Chix nite out!

A passionate musical nite for chix that lives and breathe music in their veins. The girls share their voices, emotions in their self-composed songs, headbang and strummed away as hard or soft as they like cause Friday was their nite. Most of the time I can't figure out what the hay they were singing but the melody was chillin' and the crowd was encouraging. I have to hand it to them, these people are brave and talented and it shows.

Maybe not all, few still need improvement and so joining the gig helped them loads. I was so supportive, I actually yawned after 5 mins in KL Asia Jam. Sorry la geng but it looked more like a music appreciation show than a gig. It started to pick up when Plush performed and I instantly stopped yawning... except when Applecream went on... hehehehe.... I am mean !

Keep in mind 'Tempered Mental'. Melina Ooi, she's one multi-talented chic. She was jamming and strumming and singing giftedly. She sang this one very familiar song, currently on radio, which i can't recall the title. I'm not sure if it's theirs or a rendition from original artist but it was brilliant.

You can so tell professionals to amateurs. The other group made a great effort but they could improve. One chic was definitely using her 'powerboob' to restrain attention to her performance but she was... gosh I'm sooooo sorry lara... it was horrific.

And we actually went to support her ! Eim, Ila and myself can't stop giving each other 'the look' at her every action. Ya salam Eim, polah dosa jak but Eim madah, sik salah nulung nya ngumpul pahala coz nya sik cukup ndah. Raya nanti I minta maaf. Lara jemput dia datang rumah tau :-D

We shouldn't commented so much considering we know a mutual link but if she had been a stranger, we would have bitch far more worst. On the contrary, I think we would have bitch the same... hehehehe...

There's a distinctive difference between wearing a revealing top and carry yourself with respect compared to one that act like a slut. I think she tried way... over way... too hard. If she had chill down a bit, it would have been great... maybe... emmmmmmm....

At least we had good fun huh gurls... n guy too !

'Candy' came and gave a sweet closing playing Metallica, Nirvana, Iron Maiden and their 16-years-ago-hit Akan ku tunggu ! They deserved every single woos and claps and cheers which the audience was more than happy to give for their marvelous, brilliant and spectacular performance.

This is one Chix band who really knows how to rock and though no longer on the wave, they're superb !

Hartamas Walk

So here we are in Hartamas Walk. Sitting in Retro American Diner, a restaurant themed from 70s and 80s, serving burgers, steaks and shakes; and we ordered chicken porridge, yee mee something, lor mai kai, and tao foo fah from a kopitiam-styled restaurant. Brilliant ain't it.

Hartamas Walk is in Plaza Damas that interlink four food outlets - Retro American Diner, Modesto's Bar and Terrace, Jade Loong Kopitiam and Modesto's Easy Pizza, all owned by Modesto's establishment. It's quiet on a weekdays (then again, I've been there on weekdays) but a good place to meet up for chill and chat. Food priced reasonably and parking's a bliss every time. Best part is you can order from any of the food outlet on the "walk". Lovely concept hay. Evidently I patron Modesto's Hartamas so often that the crew knows me and gave us a discount card. Hooo hooo ! There... enough publicity for Hartamas Walk.

It's been centuries since we gad together. Let alone on a work day. Rare... very rare occasion. Not for me and Eddy though. Only time we catch up is on a work day and very seldom on weekends... unless there's Perth gathering which usually happens during Raya, weddings or someone's kid birthday.

Good thing we are working close by. That what makes it possible and also the thought that we're in the same classification - young, gung ho career opportunist and single.

After dinner, Eddy gave Lara and me a special treat to Haagen Daaz. What an indulgent it was.

and calorie hike as well ! Thanx Eddy !

For the first time today, John shook hand with me. After a year working on CP account, the american marketing director shook my hand. I find it distrubing that he never does before because he does so with my colleagues. I think he had the impression that I'm the kind of muslim lady who don't do physical contact with non-muhrim.

Me ? Bother about non-Muhrim?!

Anyways, initially I felt he was not happy with me managing the account but yet we can communicate well. I didn't realise it bothered me until our recent shoot for one of the TV commercial, when he congratulated everyone for a job well done and shook hands but not mine.

Suddenly I felt kind of insecure. Hay I'm only human what... got feelings also you know...

So there. I initiated, he accepted, now I'm happy. My boss said I'm crazy to even take note of this thing. It does matter you know. It's important to have a healthy Client-Agency partnership and that we can work with one another.

Yes I am insane and it is such a tedious issue yet knowing I'm good at my work and Client is comfortable with me keeps me motivated and it includes building a good relationship with Client.

Gosh I dread advertising !

Recipe for 'Sheera'

Ever tried ‘googling’ your name on the net before?

I just did, knowing very well that my infamous animated years on-screen will turn up. What I didn’t expect to find was that 'Sheera' is an indian word for sweet and there is a recipe for making Sheera (me?!?!).

I was told before in Dubai that Sheera means 'sweet caramel'. Don't know how true that is. Only now I realise there's a recipe for it.

From what I gathered, Sheera is quite a treat, brighten up a gloomy day, rich in taste, served best with banana or mango, though some like it as it is, great, warm and yummy.

Yups… pretty much sum up the person too !

Extracted directly from http://onehotstove.blogspot.com/2006/01/s-is-for-solkadi-and-sheera.html

SHEERA is a stove-top semolina pudding and is best served warm, making it an ideal winter dessert. Traditionally, sheera is made for religious events and served in little paper cups as "prasad" or an offering to the diety. I love eating it with sliced bananas as a special treat. The method of making sheera is similar to that of risotto in that hot liquid is added to grain and stirred constantly for a creamy result. You can find cream of wheat in the breakfast aisle of any US supermarket while the same product is sold as "rava" in Indian stores.

Sheera
Ingredients:
1 cup rava (cream of wheat/semolina/farina)
2 tbsp ghee/butter
1 cup water
1 cup milk
3 tbsp sugar (or to taste)
1/2 cup chopped mixed nuts (any combo of almonds, cashews, pistachios, walnuts)
2 tbsp raisins
1 tsp cardamom powderfew strands saffron (optional)
*serves 4-6

Method:
1. Heat the ghee in a saucepan and saute the rava till it is toasty and fragrant.
2. Meanwhile, heat the water and milk together till it is simmering. Add the saffron strands, if using.
3. Add the sugar to the toasted rava and stir together.
4. Add the nuts and raisins and saute for a minute more.
5. Pour in the hot water/milk (carefully...it will bubble vigorously!) and stir constantly for several minutes till the pudding is thick and creamy.
6. Stir in the cardamom. Serve warm, topped with ripe banana slices, if desired.

Mother of All Reunion

It had a slow and quite pathetic start. Everyone was sitting around, chatting and ‘checking’ out the crowd instead of getting into the groove. A friend of mine said “Of course no one’s dancing. Tengok la badan masing2 skrang !”….hehehehehehehe…. *ouwch*

Anyways, typical of Malaysians for not coming on time, the place was packed and starts jamming passed 430pm or so. Party was held in 4 different venue – Grand Modesto’s, Glow (whatever happen to Saxophone bar), Ibiza and Uno. Reckon I would have met more friends if it was all in one place. We parked in Grand’s Modesto’s throughout.

People I met (gotta list it down so I know when I last saw them) .....

Babat, Dini, Fitrine, Yus, Syanaz, Ayin, Fara Sheba, Rozie (I think that’s her name), K, and 4 other Assuntarians, which I didn’t get their names.

People I’m with or hang out awhile…

Ezz, Andy, Ila, 4 of her friends which I can’t recall their names, Sam, Kat, Denise (only a handshake intro), Robert, Aish, Chris, Ayu, Zool, Atok, Eddy, Coremeng, Ajak (the bugger burnt my hand…and calls it a love bite ! Yeah ajak, dats as close as u get… really !)

We sure had a ball ! Unfortunate for me, I had to rush off to a wedding in s.a. Felt like I had a curfew and due back before Maghrib.

Talked about reminiscing, I had to live every moment of it !

I didn’t get my share of Dr Alban nor was there Enigma, unless they played it when I was gone. Any hoot, it was great, brilliant and the best thing was having the ole skool kakis in one room again.

I woke up on Saturday with a flu and fever and slight headache. Amazing how I recover during Piccad reunion and get ill again as soon as I left. It has gotten worst at the wedding and all day Sunday !

On a separate note, took Qaisara to get her birthday top and ended up shopping for ALL 3Qs.

Soon….. very soon…. I’ll be outwitted !

Piccadillians Unite @ Grand Modesto's

I’m so excited and I just can’t help it. I’m about to lose control and I think I like it.

Tomorrow will be ze day to let lose and chill and get nostalgic over a club famous for its tea dance session.

A place where tweens want to be seen and known and make name and come out as the ‘cool’ dude or dudette. A place to make a statement. A place to build one’s reputation. A place everyone calls ‘their playground’.

I spent the last 3 days doing free publicity for the event – how to register, telling friends around of the venue and time. I have no freaking idea what I even gain from this. I’m just tremendously ecstatic that Hasnul came up with the idea. A tat silly that it STARTS at 3pm and ENDS at 7pm... sounds adolescence to me but hay… that’s the idea ain’t it.

Well now boyz n gurls, you have less than 24 hrs to spruce up a drop-dead-gorgeous-mind-blowing-chic-and-sassy for the reunion. The place that counts, the place where it all begin, the place where most of us want to remember infinitely. The place called Piccadilly !

Happy labour day

....and it all started on Friday night. Not a minute to loose. Head out to Casa Havana, met up the guys. Really really happy guys - they were all over the GROs. They made the customers felt 'privilege'. I wonder what they tell their parents what they do for a living. Anyways, they're good gurls. Juz trying to make ends meet.

Saturday was packed with singing, dancing and laughing....and shopping....and food....yummmmmy ! There was a tribute to piccad @ Bond, Avenue K. Nice place. Met some high school mates, not surprisingly of course. Everyone was nicely dressed and looked good. Thanked god we did too... without much effort I might add.

Yeah right....gym gym gym gym....

They spinned some tracks from piccad years. Not all though. Maybe they're keeping its best for Saturday's Piccadilly Reunion on 6 May. Hoping to see loads more lads and lassies from high school. It will be a school reunion sort-of too. I know some people will go all out making themselves look... emmm... what would be an appropriate word for it... presentable and impressive probably. It's even miraculous that some are willing to take the day off just to make it to the event. That's the spirit ! I've a mindset that it would be great to catch up with the rest after so many years. That is, if they turn up but I guess most importantly is reminiscing the good 'younger' years.

I also sense some desperation to know one have lived a happening route. A day of indenial won't hurt anyone :-p

Piccad logo is pink, I'm trying to accomodate, that's purple right not pink ?!?!

Unfortunate to someone, after a nite of bottie shaking at Bond, he got locked out from his own house ! I empathy you, darling.

heheheheheheheheheheheheh..... so kesian. Lucky you have a friend living nearby... better than ending up in the car until Sunday 3pm aint it !

Sunday was a treat to Chili's courtesy of Cik Ezzw@nee. Long live the bitch ! Watched "Failure to launch". It was ok. I recommend DVD for view. "How to lose a guy in 10 days" was way off better for Matthew McConaughey.

Luckily there's Monday to recuperate. Yeah ! Only 4 days of work this week. Come saturday it will be a dang hectic and rushing day. Told Qaisara I'll get her a top for her 4th birthday. Nothing pink otherwise I won't buy. She nodded understood. So smart. Time sure flies fast and before you know it... they lay the terms and start to negotiate.

Love the girls forever *muuuuaahhhhhzzzzz*
